Greetings,Every one is looking for short cuts to uncover their price, standardization and utilization savings opportunities, but from our empirical experience there are NO SHORT CUTS. Nonetheless, there is one way that we have found to make this important job easier and even more productive for you.
We just conducted a 45-minute webinar last Thursday called, “Value Analytics™: The New Science of Savings”. At this webinar we highlighted this central point to all of our attendees: If you are employing spreadsheets to do your analytic work then you are missing a big opportunity to get better at what you do. This is because spreadsheets are easy to use and inexpensive but lack consistency, are prone to errors and have limited depth, flexibility and visibility.
On the other hand, once you automate your analytics process you will never want to go back to spreadsheets again because you can: (i) visualize your data with graphs and charts to help your clinicians self-correct their behavior, (ii) have drill downs that displays all of your pertinent data on one, two or three views, (iii) trend your data patterns over many months, quarters or even years to uncover unfavorable usage, (iv) have no record or data limits and, (v) have unlimited queries.
From a workload standpoint, computerizing your analytics tools is a more productive way to save time and uncover savings that will grow with your supply chain business. Spreadsheets have their place in your supply chain business too, but they have their limits especially when you are dealing with millions of byes of information.
So if you want you to save more time, money and resources think software vs. spreadsheets to make your job a whole lot easier.
